We hate slow websites like you do!

You might noticed the bad performance of the streetfiles during the last weeks, specially in the evening hours (CET). So let me explain:

Most of you must be very addicted to Streetfiles :-). Thousands of photos were served each day (~15 GigaByte) and hundreds of comments were written. Each day the number of new members, photos, friend relations, bookmarks, loves and hates grows. We are very happy about it, but it becomes a fulltime job (for me) to optimize and tweak the application behind Streetfiles.

It's a daily challenge to keep the system running. So don't worry if it's slow sometimes - we do our best to put up a good fight.

Erstmal nen großes Kompliment an das Team hinter Streetfiles.org! Absolut wahnsinniges Projekt! Ich finde sowas kann schon mal vorkommen bei einem Projekt dieser Größe. Zumal ihr dafür keinen Penny bekommt und trotzdem an der Seite ackert wie die Großen.

Hauptsache die Seite geht nicht offline, so lange ist alles gut.

Wie siehts denn mit freiwilligen Mitarbeitern aus, die euch unter die Arme greifen? Habt ihr da keine Connections oder so? Ich hab ja keine Ahnung was für Aufgabenfelder son Projekt abdeckt und wieviel Spielraum ihr Freiwilligen geben wollt..war ja nur ne Idee :)

Freiwillige Mini-Spenden oder sowas..für mehr oder bessere Hardware..was weiß ich :)

Also aus eigener erfahrung kann ich sagen, dass eine website an qualität verliert, sobald mehrere neue "mitarbeiter" ins spiel kommen!

aber wie schon andere sagten: diese graffiti seite macht einen äußerst seriösen und hoch qualitativen eindruck! einen eindruck, den nicht viele graffiti seiten hinterlassen und die wucht der anzahl von graffiti seiten im internet ist gewaltig..
